The Yangwang U9 is a battery electric supercar manufactured by BYD Auto under its luxury car brand Yangwang. It was formally introduced at Auto Shanghai in April 2023 and began production in August 2024.




The U9 is powered by a quad-motor, all-wheel-drive powertrain rated at a peak 1,288 hp, which allows it to accelerate from 0 to 62 mph in 2.36 seconds and reach a top speed of 243.5 mph. It also achieved an uncertified Nürburgring Nordschleife lap time of 7 minutes and 17.9 seconds in November 2024.

The U9 is priced at 1.68 million yuan in China, which is approximately $232,000.

The Yangwang U9 is a significant achievement for BYD, as it demonstrates the company's ability to compete with established luxury and supercar brands.
